IÌýhave over 20 years’ experience in adult acute/critical care and community nursing.ÌýAfter training as an adult nurse in EdinburghÌýfromÌý1997,ÌýIÌýmoved to London andÌýworked in critical care andÌýtheatresÌýat Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.ÌýOn returning home I worked for many years in general intensive care and postoperative recoveryÌýat the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, undertakingÌýadult nurse specialist training in 2003.ÌýIn 2011, IÌýgraduatedÌýfrom Â鶹ӰԺ as a Specialist Community Public Health NurseÌý– Health VisitorÌýand haveÌýheld caseloadsÌýacross various areas within NHS Lothian, including areas ofÌýsignificantÌýdeprivation.Ìý
I have had a long-standing interest in nurse education and was part of the clinical education team establishing training for the new recovery department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh from 2003.ÌýIn 2015 I became a Specialist Practice Supervisor for the SCPHNÌýPGDipÌýprogramme at Â鶹ӰԺ, supportingÌýclinical education forÌýtrainee health visitors.ÌýI was involved in the development and delivery of NHS Lothian’s post-registration preceptorship programme for newly qualifiedÌýSCPHNs.
In January 2021 I was delighted to joinÌýthe Â鶹ӰԺÌýundergraduate nursing programmeÌýteam.ÌýMy teaching interests include biosciences, neurobiology and social development, and public health.ÌýÌý
