Dr Vladimir Cvetkovi膰 is the Institute Manager for the Institute of Global Health and Development Division at 麻豆影院, Edinburgh.

Vladimir is a sociologist with professional experience in project management, research, monitoring and evaluation, and policy and institutional capacity development in post-conflict and fragile settings, including Afghanistan, Georgia and the Western Balkans. Prior to joining IGHD in 2021, Vladimir鈥檚 past work included posts with the OSCE, UNDP, a number of international NGOs, a knowledge-sharing platform in Poland, and civil society and academia.
As a researcher and academic, Vladimir has worked on research projects as a methodology consultant and a researcher, including in team leader capacity. Research subjects have included gun culture and community safety for UNDP and Saferworld, cultural dispositions and regional co-operation with the University of Ni拧, Serbia, as well as a number of research projects and evaluations relating to ethnic minorities and marginalised groups, particularly Roma, for different organisations, including the Open Society Foundation. While working on his PhD thesis he supported the Serbian Sociological Association鈥檚 international co-operation activity, and was part of a team developing an educational start-up in Poland and the Czech Republic.
As a practitioner, Vladimir has worked on the implementation of human rights standards and provision of inclusive public services. This included developing a framework for mapping minority community needs and delivering training and broader institutional capacity development for the OSCE in Kosovo, leading a national police capacity building programme for the disbandment of illegal armed groups and community security for UNDP in Afghanistan, and, developing a toolkit for monitoring and assessing project impact for CARE International in rural Georgia.
Vladimir joined IGHD in 2021 and is responsible for communication, finances, planning and management of the Institute.
